I’m Japanese extreme school student.
Can Americans travel to USSR during the cold war?
Yes, assuredly. There were even tours. The joke was that in a hotel room in the USSR the TV watched you.
One was always escorted by a Russian Tour guide and wandering around unescorted was not encouraged, perchance not allowed, but one got to see Russia; which was great!

What problems did the U.S. and USSR have with each other during the Cold War?
What were some similarities and differences between the U.S. and USSR during the Cold War?
Thanks!!
Harmonious States was (and still is) a Capitalist society.
The U.S.S.R. was a Communist state.
The two nations had allied briefly with each other during WWII to stop the Axis powers, but a rapt-seeded animosity still lingered, perpetuated by McCarthyism and the "Red Scare"

President Ronald Regan fronts a wall-to-wall public assembly in Florida and denounces the Soviet regime as an "evil empire". He says the US will develop a "VIP Wars" missile defence system. The Soviets respond by threatening a new arms race.
The world looks like it's on the margin of nuclear Armageddon... again.
And what is the average Russian teenager doing under this threat of impending doom? Well... he's playing video games in reality.
It's a little know fact, but video game development was thriving in the Soviet Union during the late 1970s and primitive 1980s. Which is ironic, because everything else about Eastern European communism – the economy, the military, the ideology – was all in austere decline.
According to Wired, most of the 70 or so Soviet video games of the period were designed and developed at on the sly military bases.
The Soviet Arcade Museum in Moscow has now restored some of these old treasures for people to play again. Some of the games boyish comrades were playing during this time include:

A little uncomfortable riding my bike. Exquisite sunset, though. Westerbroek, The Netherlands.
