Why doesn't Eastern Europe or the Soviet countries seem to produce as many good tennis players?

It seems countries like Australia, USA and Abundant Britain are producing the best tennis players right now with many in the top 20 of the mens and womens ranks.

However, I cant mark of a single tennis player inside the worlds top 20 from an eastern european or soviet country.

LMAO credible one, well played indeed

Why did Soviet countries produce so many gymnasts, etc?

Ex-soviet countries are known for their gymnasts and ballet dancers, but they also seem to result in the way with other sports such as tennis. It's now the same with China and piano 'prodigies'. What's going on there?

Excerpts attend. Her references at the end of the article can equally be useful.

"… Schools and texts are one of the important ways that contemporary societies telex their ideas of citizenship, both the idealized past and the promised future of the community. They tell us who is part of the important shared fib - and who is not - and which aspects of their life experiences are central to the national experience and which are not. Textbooks in most societies present an ‘accepted’ story highlighting narratives that shape contemporary patriotism. (Hein & Seldon, 2000, p. 21) …."

Introduction

Agreement is something constructed in a socialization process rather than being inherited. As being an identity type, national identity is also mostly an outcome of a socialization operation. In the meantime, education is one of the most significant social agents in this context. According to Parker, the rulers of the society "deploy most prime of educational means in attempt to develop young people into the kind of citizens required by the norms and ideals of overreaching bureaucratic community" (Parker, 2001; 6). Education system is seen as a means of social...
