Is there a Jewish symbol for safe travel?

I am Broad but my very close friend is Jewish. I am wondering if there is a Jewish symbol that is akin to our St. Christopher medal that is meant to keep travelers safe. My friend is in the military and getting rapid to deploy for a long time. I would like to get him something that he can wear on a chain or carry in his pocket that is a protector. Is there anything like that in the Jewish assuredness? Thanks!

Within Judaism we be prone to stay away from pendants or objects.
The symbols we do have are as a reminder of G-d watching over us and our responsibilities towards Him. But it's not really in our mind that carrying this oppose will serve us any other purpose than to remind ourselves of G-d.

We do recite "Tefilat Haderech", literally "Plea for the Road" or also known "Travelers Prayer". It would be more his obligation to say this for himself than for you to do it, because in this case your friend is the traveler and not you.
Here's a in:

Something that could be done is reciting a Psalm in the persons name daily, so that the merit of lore Torah is attributed to the other person and those merits protect him.
We also do "Good Deeds" in the name of a person. If you look at almost every tome on Judaism, you'll see a dedication page at the beginning stating something like "This book is dedicated So and So in Memory of their idolized _____ So and So"
The same principle applies. The merits are attributed to the person it's being dedicated to.

Hope it helped.

maccabi 2009 medal count?

I am looking for a website with up to era 2009 maccabi olympic (jewish olympics) medal count.

I have not been skilful to find a medal count, but here is the OFFICIAL 2009 Macccabi Games web sight. They give up to date results of sports and all the news.

The games are divided into 3 categories Juniors, Masters and Altruistic.

You can also try this WIKI link as well as some of the sports are being updated in terms of results and maybe somebody will track the medals results and assertive a table. The 2005 games WIKI entry does include a medal results page so like I said when games are over you will as likely as not get your medals table.

The person or persons have so far only been following results of 4 sports Basketball, Football (SOCCER), Rugby and Trail and Field.
