The parley got out on this small production wine. Most has been bought up and cellared. I did find a small amount on my wine site search list. You can still find it over at Winezap.com.

Kenwood Russian River 2007 Reserve Chardonnay kv_res_nv_chard_bottle_new1Wine Genre

Delicious aromas of Pippin apples and crème fraiche with more subtle hints of Mandarin orange and sandalwood, replete with mouthfeel with a fresh, slightly crisp finish.

Wine Makers Notes

The grapes for the 2007 Kenwood Reinforcements Chardonnay were sourced from the Russian River Valley, well known for producing excellent Chardonnay.  One-third of the fruit was grown on our state vineyards.

The growing season in 2007 began with a cool, dry spring followed by a mild summer preserving the grapes’ accepted acidity and giving the fruit ample time on the vine to develop its flavors fully.  Harvested in September and October, the fruit was gently pressed and settled before fermentation in French oak barrels.  The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was superannuated on the lees for seven months.  The resulting Chardonnay balances fresh fruit and green apple flavors with a full, creamy texture and long finish.

Food Recommendations

Enjoy the 2007 Kenwood Reserve Chardonnay as an aperitif or paired with poultry, creamy pastas and seafood dishes.
